The housing cooperative Wohnungsgenossenschaft Aufbau Dresden eG (WGA)

With around 17,000 apartments, WGA is the largest cooperative in East Germany. Its residential areas are centrally located between the Elbe and the Großer Garten, as well as in the eastern part of Dresden, offering housing for individual needs. The cooperative is characterized by attractive outdoor areas, experienced staff, and caretakers who ensure order and security. Every member becomes part of an engaged community, with cultural offerings through community centers and family centers.

Enderstraße, Wallotstraße, Zamenhofstraße, Comeniusstraße, Altleuben, Pirnaer Landstraße

The WGA regularly carries out renovations to enhance the well-being of its tenants. In collaboration with the planners from Ingenieurgemeinschaft Cossebaude, stylish and comfortable design ideas were implemented on Enderstraße. In addition to renovating vacant apartments, balconies were completely renewed, elevators were installed in the stairwells, and all entrances were equipped with new apartment, basement, and main entrance doors. The residential blocks received spacious entrance areas and newly insulated, colorfully designed facades. After the construction phase, the outdoor areas were also landscaped and made more resident-friendly.

The high-rise buildings on Zamenhofstraße and Comeniusstraße were modernized to meet current fire safety requirements. Our technicians installed new smoke protection and fire doors in the communal areas. In the residential area of Leuben, new fire-resistant apartment doors are gradually being installed, which also improve burglary protection and sound insulation for residents.

Following this comprehensive renovation, the massive residential block at Pfeifferhannsstraße 10-20, with 11 floors and 6 entrances, is now also being refurbished. The Christian School Association Zschachwitz e.V. built a new elementary school with after-school care in Försterlingstraße. The visually very appealing planning with colored facade panels was carried out by Zipp+Pöschl Architekten und Ingenieurgemeinschaft. The WBV lives up to its name. In 2021, the apartment block at Moritzburger Straße 73a – 73d was completely renovated, creating new barrier-free apartments now accessible by elevators. The service building at Moritzburger Straße 73 followed in 2022, gaining two additional floors. Our services included installing apartment entrance, cellar, and interior doors, as well as windows, shutters, and granite window sills.

The Lutherstraße 6 a–d will be renamed Lindenauer Straße 31/33 during the complete renovation in 2023/2024, as the new entrances with elevators have been moved to Lindenauer Straße. The original 72 apartments will be transformed into 51 modern, KFW85-standardized apartments with new-build quality, great layouts, and their own parking spaces. Here too, we diligently worked on behalf of WBV, installing various fittings.

Ludwig-van-Beethoven-Straße, Fröbelstraße

It offers 39 barrier-free 1- and 2-room apartments with custom layouts, energy-efficient heat pump heating, an elevator, and a large ground-floor terrace, providing a very comfortable home for older adults. A service partner on-site provides 24/7 care and additional services such as meal provision and housekeeping.

The WBS 70 is a series of residential buildings in prefabricated slab construction, which was developed in the early 1970s by the German Building Academy and the Technical University of Dresden, among others. In cooperation with the creative planners of the Ingenieurgemeinschaft Cossebaude, the facade was completely renewed, equipped with thermal insulation and the balconies were rebuilt. The staircases were repaired and the electrical and sanitary installations in the apartments were renewed. An elevator was retrofitted at some of the building entrances. Finally, the new facades were given artfully arranged trellis ropes for greenery, and the outdoor facilities were also redesigned. Among other things, our fitters renewed apartment and entrance doors in this property.
